Blogging enables the user to express themselves, give opinions and do informal debating.
Students are already communicating with 21st Century level of skills but teachers lag behind. Fear tactics have been branded on their brains to the point that they shy away from tools that could help students, and themselves, learn.
Yes, it will require more work up front but until we are ready to admit the change is needed, students will continue to be the ones to lose out.
More frustrating will be the students in the same grade getting vary different educations from two different teachers; one who uses technology and one who doesn't.
